A stunning late Edwardian 1918/20 scroll arm sofa in soft gold. Raised on six carved mahogany legs and presenting very generous proportions, this piece has been rebuilt from the ground up. Firstly, each mahogany leg has been re-secured, then the entire frame (bare) has been "joint checked", and then the traditional upholstery began, including 96 new springs, all duck feather fillings, natural linings and zips, all finished in a foliate design soft gold with "rope" piping.This really is a fantastic luxurious antique sofa, looking as good from the back as the front, the slightly arched back and carved legs which grace the back make this piece pefect for use in the centre of a room.
