Regency Scroll End Sofa

A truly superb example of a Regency Scroll End sofa, the wonderful mahogany frame with excellent patination and highly desirable swept feet with excellent carving terminating in beautifully detailed brass casters depicting leaves with ceramic wheels below. Everything about this sofa is just wonderful and this is a particularly desirable shape, all 4 feet, both front and back are carved so that this looks as striking from behind as from infront. The "s" shaped arms give this a wonderful swept look from the sides and the back has lovely inverted show wood to the center. The whole sofa has been stripped to a bare frame and all the joints checked and clamped as necessary and then it has been reupholstered using traditional materials in a striking Regency gold stripe. The piped slip cushion has been made in sections to ensure that the horse hair is equally distributed and the covering cushion has a zip so it can be removed if necessary. The whole has been finished in a gold braid with bolster cushions finished in gold cord.

A beautiful and impressive piece and one that you will find hard to duplicate.
