Collard and Collard mahogany baby grand piano Attractive Collard and Collard baby grand piano in a deep dark
mahogany. This lovely little piano is manufactured by the well respected
English company of Collard and Collard and is in stuuning condition
having been traditionally french polished with the large brass bucket
casters fully buffed . Collard and Collard were one of Englands
most prominent piano manufacturers well into the early 20th Century.
Clementi, a well known pianist in the 19th Century took over the Longman
and Broderip piano shop in London in 1800 and after his death the
company became known as Collard and Collard so had the seal of approval
from a very accomplished pianist which marked the seal of approval
of Collard and Collard as pianos for true pianists. This piano is
a lovely little baby grand on 3 tapering legs with large brass bucket
casters, it measures 55" in length so is perfect for any size
of room. The lowest note is A and the top note is C. having 52 ivory
keys (all original and good) and 36 ebony keys (again all excellent.)
As one would expect this piano is iron framed, overstrung and in concert
pitch. The hammers and felts are all in very good condition and this
is a piano that has obviously been well looked after, £2,495 (Ref PIA24)
