Circa 1880, an English Victorian Bureau de dame of French influence.

This rosewood example has mellowed to a very attractive honey colour with lots of original patination. the "fall" has a foliate marquetry panel to the exterior whilst inside is a closed tooled leather insert. Behind this is a sliding hidden well with 3 small drawers above. The top has a pierced fret brass pretty gallery, the piercing is of heart design. The whole is raised on long slender cabriole supports surmounted with brass decoration to the knees and feet.
A lovely example being very original in condition.
