Circa 1840 An Early Victorian Rosewood Card Table

Circa 1840, this early Victorian rosewood card table has a highly figured hinged top which opens to reveal a circular baize lined interior (replacement green baize). The top swivels to reveal a recess for gaming counters, cards etc, and below is a shaped frieze bordered by scrolling acanthus carving. Beneath the frieze is a beautiful finely carved vase shaped stem terminating in well defined cabriole supports with foliate carving to the knees and toes . This beautiful table stands on original small brass casters and will suit the finest of interiors.
