Fabulous W1Vth Double Reading Stand This wonderful period antique reading stand dates to 1830-1837 W1Vth, being in highly figured mahogany and in fabulous condition, having the benefit of being fully adjustable, with original pin which locates in one of several holes to allow the table to be positioned at several different heights, with double ratcheted reading stands, the book supports in mahogany are removeable when the table is down to provide a flat surface and can be stored inside the table itself. This is an extremely desirable and beautiful piece. The rectangular top having 2 slim fitted drawers, is supported by a turned column and stands on the most wonderfully carved triform base with well executed lion paw feet. The stem having a well defined upturned acanthus leaf which is indicative of pieces dating to this period. The top can be positioned in two ways, one of which allows 2 people to comfortably sit at the table and use the stands without the base getting in the way. Beautiful and very rare. Price £1895
