John Brinsmead and Sons London Boudoir grand piano

A beautiful example of a Boudoir grand piano by the English firm John Brinsmead and Sons London. This lovely piano is extremely attractive with hexagonal turned legs and brass casters and a pretty music fret. It has 52 ivory keys from bottom A to top C with 36 ebony keys making a total of 88 notes. The piano is in lovely condition, the case will be traditionally french polished included in the price, at the moment the photos are pre workshop. Internally it is very clean and has obviously been well looked after, the hammers and felts are all good and it is an excellent example of a piano of this age, both beautiful and musically very playable, suitable for any ability of player. It is iron framed, overstrung and in concert pitch and has attractive lyre shaped pedals. Brinsmead were based in London and founded in 1835 by John Brinsmead. He suceeded in establishing a company that became highly respected and produced good quality instruments, and was granted several patents for work on the repetition action. Brinsmead were appointed piano makers to King george V in 1911, the company were taken over in 1967 by Kemble.
