Regency Burr Elm Tea Caddy

This beautiful highly figured burr elm tea caddy dates to the Regency Period and stands on well defined brass paw feet with ivory escutcheon. The whole is sarcophagus in shape and has satin wood inlay to its circumference. To ether side is an attractive brass lion paw handle. It is this fine detailing which adds greatly to the value of this lovely caddy.

The lid lifts to reveal a fitted interior, 2 burr elm lids with satinwood surround and bone handles over 2 compartments originally for tea.
