The lid opens to reveal a fitted interior the lid with a lift down section to store letters/documents in green velvet with gilded edge and when open reveals a dressing mirror. The lift out compartment is divided into sections to store jewlery and has original green interior. The brass button on the side pulls out to release a hidden drawer in the side of the box which is again fitted out for more jewlery.
