Circa 1830 an Early W1V Extending Mahogany Dining Table which seats
10 in comfort can also be reduced in size for more intimate dining.
the top is typical of this period constructed from beautifully figured
mahogany with a delicate thumb mould to the edge, below is a slim
mahogany frieze, and consists of 2 extra leaves which fit neatly into
the frame of the dining table once it has been pulled apart (earlier
examples of extending dining tables used this method and later a winding
mechanism and handle became common place) . The whole raised on very
fine ring turned and lobed supports terminating in brass bucket castors
and wheels (all original).
