Beautiful Empire style Antique French Burr Maple Double Bed and bedside cabinet

A stunning antique French Double bed in burr maple. A beautiful honey colour with lovely marquetry inlay panels depiting floral garlands. These are placed on the headboard and footboard and again on the bedside cabinet. Of excellent quality and good design. The bed itself has a high headboard with rosewood banding. The brass mounts on the top and of the headboard and the footboard depict shells with tassels all in brass, the headboard is surmounted by a lovely brass decorative pediment of leaf and berries with central brass garland. There is so much to see on this bed that on first glance you could miss the detailing.

The footboard again has lovely marquetry panels of floral garlands, the same wonderful brass mounts as are found on the headboard and it is of serpentine outline. The whole stand on 6 brass capped feet which look elegant and graceful and make the bed very sturdy when assembled. The bed will be provided with new slats and the is easy to assemble, coming apart in four sections, headboard, footboard and 2 side rails. We check in the workshops that the bolts all fit well and that the frame is solid and sturdy and it is easy to assemble.

The bedside cabinet is of excellent quality being a marble top example with internal marble also. The marquetry floral garland to the door is simply beautiful and it stands on the same brass capped legs that the bed has. The same brass mounts to the bedside cabinet and the whole is of serpentine outline.

Simply stunning!
