Circa 1900, a matching pair of inlaid mahogany Empire style antique
bedside cabinets. Particularly attractive, having the benefit of both
drawer and cupboard with pretty brass furniture. Veneered in herringbone
and quarter mahogany veneers with inlay detailing. The doors are flanked
either side with freestanding pilasters with brass capitals. Of inverted
breakfront outline with polished variegated black, grey and cream
shaped marble tops. Above is a pediment which is a perfect miniature
of the cabinet below again having its own pilasters and brass capitals.
These beautiful antique bedside cabinets have been cleverly constructed
to enable use with or without the upstand, and look equally attractive
both ways. The sides are fielded and the whole raised on tapering
turned supports.
A beautiful impressive pair of matching antique bedside cabinets in
lovely condition.
